Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 4

Day 4: When it comes to fast food promos and Halloween, there are a few that I can think of, but the one that sticks out the most to me is the McDonalds Halloween buckets. The ones that stick out most to everyone are the Pumpkin, Ghost and Witch. For me, I remember the most are the original pumpkin trio as opposed to the Silver Shamrock collection. I remember wanting them so bad as a kid, even though I used the traditional pumpkin Halloween pails that everyone had, because they held more candy (even though I never really got them near to full, I probably wouldn't get one of the McD's one full) but when you got them, they came with the food in them, as they were the Happy Meal and the bucket was the toy. You ate the food, washed out the bucket and you were good to go!


 As years went by, more changes happened, most notably the addition of removable cookie cutters in the lids and in 2001 when the lids were removed completely. But these were a staple of my childhood, and hopefully yours too.

Day 53: A little bit back, I reviewed my favorite Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode. This Sunday marks 30(32 this month, Oct, 2022) years since the first one titled "The Simpsons Halloween Special" (and the only one to take place in a treehouse!) Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 35

Day 35 (Posted October 5th, 2020): It's hard to believe that this month marks the 30th anniversary of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror anthology episodes. (on 10/25, maybe I'll pick my 3 favorite independent segments) which means 3 years from now, there will be over 100 segments(2022: One year to go!). There are many good ones, but in my opinion, the best collection in my opinion is Treehouse of Horror V.  .      Still known as the Simpsons Halloween special  After an Outer Limits-esque intro, the first segment is called "The Shinning" it revolves around the Simpson family agreeing to watch Mr. Burns' lodge for the winter. After Burns cuts the cable and takes the beer, which causes Homer to slowly descend into madness. While it turns out Bart has psychic skills. Sound familiar? It's a direct spoof of The Shining and this one brings the laughs. Segment two: "Time and Punishment" begins with Homer breaking the toaste...

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 27

Day 27(Posted on September 27, 2020): I told you that I had a little Halloween food shopping spree the other day, so here's today's food, Pumpkin Spice Twinkies.  So, these look like regular Twinkies, but once you take a bite, if you're not expecting it, that pumpkin spice taste hits you in the face. Now, when you unwrap these, you can smell the pumpkin spice. So, if you were hoping to trick a friend with these, unless they have a bad sense of smell, you're not tricking anyone. The sponge cake has the same consistency, the cream is a little fluffier(I can't remember how long it's been since I've had a Twinkie, so it might have always been this fluffy), but both the cake and the cream are loaded with pumpkin spice.  So, if you don't like Twinkies and/or don't like pumpkin spice, give these a pass, because they are loaded. But if you like both, these are a MUST BUY.
