Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 10

Day 10(Originally Posted September 10th 2020):  While I'm a big movie guy in most cases I prefer sequels to the originals (Rocky, Phantasm, Hellraiser, Texas Chainsaw, Dawn of the Dead, etc) Evil Dead is no exception. One of my favorites, Evil Dead II in my opinion is the horror version of Rocky II. A soft remake of the first, but with a budget. And this brings extra gore, extra monsters and extra laughs.  Bruce Campbell is the star here and he brings it his all, his acting and his physical performance here are both incredible. Everything from the one liners to the shotgun to the chainsaw hand all starts here. While the original Evil Dead is a classic, I feel you can skip that one and start right here, then go right to Army of Darkness. If you haven't seen it, definitely check it out. Stay Spooky!

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 3

Day 3: (one of my favorite) Halloween Specials.  (Originally Posted September 3rd 2020) This obscure one called "The Halloween that almost wasn't" stars Judd Hirsch as Dracula who has quite a problem when his fellow monster Winfred the Witch refuses to fly over the moon. In that world if she doesn't fly over the moon, Halloween os canceled. So will Dracula convince her to fly over the moon thus saving Halloween?! Watch for yourself in the attached link below.  The Halloween that almost wasn't This is a little cute movie from the late 70's, it used to air every year on the Disney channel where it would air with another Halloween special (More on that one on a later date) gather the whole family, the kids will love all the monsters and the physical comedy, also, I did an episode of the Advent Calendar House podcast (link below) check it out below and enjoy!  (Also, an alternate title is the Night Dracula Saved the World, which...

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown, Day 2: Favorite Candy.

(Originally Posted on September 2nd, 2020) Day 2: Favorite Halloween themed candy.  One thing you're going to notice about my picks is alot of times, I pick the fan favorite and other times I go FAR against the crowd.  Now, pretty much everyone loves Reese's Peanut Butter cups. As do I. But, I think they taste so much better when they're shaped like something (Christmas Trees, Valentine's Hearts, Easter Eggs) and Reese's Peanut Butter pumpkins are no exception. Even though you can sort of get them at other times during the year, I love these. More than candy corn, caramel apple lollipops and orange and black peanut butter fudge, these are the ones that stick with me the most. I'd always save these guys for last when it came to my Halloween haul. Stay Spooky everyone!

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown, Day 1: Favorite Scary Movie

So, to start things off, I thought I'd keep it simple with my favorite scary movie, enjoy! (Originally Posted September 1st, 2020) So, heres day 1 of my Halloween grab bag, so I thought I'd start with my favorite scary movie.  Although its not really a horror movie, Ridley Scott's 1979 movie Alien(trust me, I will most likely cover another late 70's horror movie later on) the Alien movie, while scary on the basis of the creature alone, the cramped in area of the Nostromo's hallways and ducts are enough to make even the non claustrophobic feel uncomfortable. Its the unknown, the fact that there is no escape, help isn't coming and there's a creature hunting you down. From the design of the Xenomorph to the Jerry Goldsmith score, to the windy rocky terrain of LV-426 everything in this movie fits together for a perfect sci-fi/horror movie. (Also, I will say that Aliens is my favorite of the series) (And as a Pop Daddy extra, enjoy these R...

Red, White and Blue Twinkies!

Image
Hey everyone, Pop Daddy here, I've been finding motivation to make some videos, but it's rough, especially when the view counts are low and you don't get too much feedback. But, I've got a snack here to check out and I hope you like it.  A few weeks ago, the Mrs. went to the store and said she had a surprise for me upon returning, so after I pull the assist with the bags, she reveals my surprise...(you've seen the title, you know what it is) .                               Murican Twinkies! So, these guys come in a 12 pack, individually wrapped, so, I pull one out and take a look at it.  As you can see the wrapping is the usual Hostess snack wrapping, nothing too special, so I remove it for another look.  There are red and blue specks, and I don't know if the "white" is supposed to be the exposed cake or the cream? But, there was very little whit...

Off Camera: BK Ghost Pepper Chicken Nuggets

Image
Hey everyone Pop Daddy here with an off camera review. So, as some of you may or may not know, last September/October, I did a review every day of different food items, movies, tv shows and so on. It was 61 reviews in 61 days and it hit hard. Earlier this year I also posted 4 stills from my favorite music videos for the two months leading up to my birthday. So, this year, I wasn't doing anything too big for Halloween (Also, we were in FL for 10 of those days). That being said, when Burger King said they had these ghost pepper flavored chicken nuggets for Halloween, I held off, because we were 1) trying to eat better and 2) trying to stick to vid reviews. But, as fate would have it, I ended up getting these. How did this happen? This previous Monday, after I was done work, I headed out to the store to grab items to make for dinners this week, such as turkey for turkey burgers, pork roast, battered cod and some other foods. When I got home, I was wiped, my work starts pre...
