Off Camera: BK Ghost Pepper Chicken Nuggets
Hey everyone Pop Daddy here with an off camera review. So, as some of you may or may not know, last September/October, I did a review every day of different food items, movies, tv shows and so on. It was 61 reviews in 61 days and it hit hard. Earlier this year I also posted 4 stills from my favorite music videos for the two months leading up to my birthday. So, this year, I wasn't doing anything too big for Halloween (Also, we were in FL for 10 of those days). That being said, when Burger King said they had these ghost pepper flavored chicken nuggets for Halloween, I held off, because we were 1) trying to eat better and 2) trying to stick to vid reviews. But, as fate would have it, I ended up getting these. How did this happen?
This previous Monday, after I was done work, I headed out to the store to grab items to make for dinners this week, such as turkey for turkey burgers, pork roast, battered cod and some other foods. When I got home, I was wiped, my work starts pretty early and when it's time to start dinner, I've already been up for about 12 hours, so we decided that we would get dinner from Burger King, which is only a few blocks from our house. Usually when we order from this little area, my wife wants food from the Chinese place, and I'll just get Burger King, seeing as it costs less. I went Monday night and I saw that the signage for the Ghost Pepper Nuggs was still up, so, I asked and they said they still had them, I got an order for 8 and brought everything home. After finishing my fries, I started on the nuggs, it never even crossed my mind to have cameras rolling when I took a bite, so, how did they stack up?
As you can see from the ad, they look like the regular BK nuggs and they're the same size, except they're a bit more red, taking a smell, you can smell a little spiciness, but nothing to bring tears to your eye. I get the ranch ready, but, the first bite goes it dry. How is it? Aside from the normal BK nugget texture, it's a slow burn, it doesn't punch you in the face, but it'll stay with you for a few minutes after you're done, I'm not ashamed to admit that I did reach for my drink a few times with this guys. Now, they are spicy, but "fast food spicy", where if you have no problem eating spicy food, these won't bother you at all(same with last year's Ghost Pepper Donut from Dunkin) it's still not the spiciest fast food item I've had (That would go to Wendy's Jalapeno popper chicken sandwich) but, it's good for a little kick. These aren't that bad, give them a try.
VERDICT:
Spicy food fans: Yes
Fast food fans: If you can handle spicy
Kids: No. Unless they can handle spicy foods, keep these nuggets away from YOUR nuggets.
