Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 40

Day 40(Posted October 10, 2020): I'm gonna tell you guys about the other snack I picked up yesterday, the Hostess Iced Pumpkin Cupcakes! Do they live up to your pumpkin cravings? 


First and foremost the box is nice and autumny with a pumpkin that says "limited edition" on them. The cupcakes inside are individually wrapped as opposed to Tastykake style that are usually 2 in a single wrapper. Now with the twinkies, I told you that the Pumpkin scent will get you if you hold them up to your nose? Well, these ones will knock you in the nose from a foot away, it's that strong. The texture of the frosting, cake and filling are the same as regular Hostess cupcakes. 
The pumpkin taste is STRONG with these, the cream inside is ok and the icing compliments it nicely. The frosting and cream taste like straight up sugar, if they were supposed to taste like anything else, I didn't taste it. Overall, these cupcakes will compliment a chilly night with apple cider and a scary movie well. If you enjoy the taste of pumpkin, definitely get these. If you aren't into sweets, I'd say give them a pass.

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 35

Day 35 (Posted October 5th, 2020): It's hard to believe that this month marks the 30th anniversary of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror anthology episodes. (on 10/25, maybe I'll pick my 3 favorite independent segments) which means 3 years from now, there will be over 100 segments(2022: One year to go!). There are many good ones, but in my opinion, the best collection in my opinion is Treehouse of Horror V.  .      Still known as the Simpsons Halloween special  After an Outer Limits-esque intro, the first segment is called "The Shinning" it revolves around the Simpson family agreeing to watch Mr. Burns' lodge for the winter. After Burns cuts the cable and takes the beer, which causes Homer to slowly descend into madness. While it turns out Bart has psychic skills. Sound familiar? It's a direct spoof of The Shining and this one brings the laughs. Segment two: "Time and Punishment" begins with Homer breaking the toaste...

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 27

Day 27(Posted on September 27, 2020): I told you that I had a little Halloween food shopping spree the other day, so here's today's food, Pumpkin Spice Twinkies.  So, these look like regular Twinkies, but once you take a bite, if you're not expecting it, that pumpkin spice taste hits you in the face. Now, when you unwrap these, you can smell the pumpkin spice. So, if you were hoping to trick a friend with these, unless they have a bad sense of smell, you're not tricking anyone. The sponge cake has the same consistency, the cream is a little fluffier(I can't remember how long it's been since I've had a Twinkie, so it might have always been this fluffy), but both the cake and the cream are loaded with pumpkin spice.  So, if you don't like Twinkies and/or don't like pumpkin spice, give these a pass, because they are loaded. But if you like both, these are a MUST BUY.
