Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 46


Day 46(Posted October 16, 2020): Now, I've talked about spooky movies, specifically the Halloween movies. Now, I love the first 3 movies (in my opinion, after those, the series goes downhill), the first one, I think is a perfect horror movie, but, tonight we'll be talking about my favorite: Halloween 2.


A few days ago, I talked about Undead Nightmare. I loved Red Dead Redemption so much and Undead Nightmare was a DLC that added so much to it.

                              I shot him six times!


 When I was younger, I saw Halloween so many times, I knew it backwards and forwards, the only sequel I had seen for so many yeara was 4. When I finally saw 2, I loved it pretty much right away, seeing as we start off pretty much right where Halloween ends, we know this is gonna be a long night with no rest for our heroes. Like a DLC, this sequel adds new characters, locations and plot points to the story we already know and love. If there's a game you love, the right DLC will enhance it and make you love the original so much more, you can enjoy the first one by itself, or you can get a super sized movie by watching this immediately after, which I think does enhance it.   Hence this one added a plot point that stuck with the Halloween movies through sequels and reboots until 2018. Laurie Strode and Michael Myers are related. This was the first time it was revealed, which was pretty much the cut in Jason's mask, which stayed until 2003. Although Laurie, takes a backseat to Loomis, they both do a great job here, it's a real shame that this is the last time me see them together. Now, you can watch this movie on it's own, but if you're not too familiar with the first movie, watch that one first, then pop this one in for an awesome double feature. Enjoy! (Also, grab some drinks and pour one out for my boy Ben Tramer, RIP, you're my boy Ben!)

Day 53: A little bit back, I reviewed my favorite Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode. This Sunday marks 30(32 this month, Oct, 2022) years since the first one titled "The Simpsons Halloween Special" (and the only one to take place in a treehouse!) Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 35

Day 35 (Posted October 5th, 2020): It's hard to believe that this month marks the 30th anniversary of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror anthology episodes. (on 10/25, maybe I'll pick my 3 favorite independent segments) which means 3 years from now, there will be over 100 segments(2022: One year to go!). There are many good ones, but in my opinion, the best collection in my opinion is Treehouse of Horror V.  .      Still known as the Simpsons Halloween special  After an Outer Limits-esque intro, the first segment is called "The Shinning" it revolves around the Simpson family agreeing to watch Mr. Burns' lodge for the winter. After Burns cuts the cable and takes the beer, which causes Homer to slowly descend into madness. While it turns out Bart has psychic skills. Sound familiar? It's a direct spoof of The Shining and this one brings the laughs. Segment two: "Time and Punishment" begins with Homer breaking the toaste...

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 27

Day 27(Posted on September 27, 2020): I told you that I had a little Halloween food shopping spree the other day, so here's today's food, Pumpkin Spice Twinkies.  So, these look like regular Twinkies, but once you take a bite, if you're not expecting it, that pumpkin spice taste hits you in the face. Now, when you unwrap these, you can smell the pumpkin spice. So, if you were hoping to trick a friend with these, unless they have a bad sense of smell, you're not tricking anyone. The sponge cake has the same consistency, the cream is a little fluffier(I can't remember how long it's been since I've had a Twinkie, so it might have always been this fluffy), but both the cake and the cream are loaded with pumpkin spice.  So, if you don't like Twinkies and/or don't like pumpkin spice, give these a pass, because they are loaded. But if you like both, these are a MUST BUY.
