Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 30

Day 30(Posted on September 30, 2020): Ok so it turns out I WAS NOT done with the treats from Target (I forgot about these) so, how are the CREEPY cocoa crisp M&M's?  So, the first thing you'll notice, is the head M&M Red dressed as Dracula (or a generic vampire) so, after you rip them open, you'll see that the colors aren't really Halloween colors (bright greens and orange and purple) but, the earthy, autumn colors (brown, orange and red), which doesn't make them as creepy as they could be.  You bite in and the taste reminds me of the crispy M&M's, but chocolate, so sort of like Cocoa Krispies. The odd thing is, the chocolate tastes closer to a dark chocolate than a milk chocolate. If there was a bowl of these in front of me, I wouldn't down them like I do the peanut and PB ones. But, I'd probably nurse them. Verdict: they're ok.

Day 29 (Originally Posted on September 29, 2020) So, except for the food reviews, all of the movies and TV shows and memories, have been things that I've loved and had memories of. But keep in mind, they're not all good memories. So, today I'm looking at my least favorite of the Halloween movies and surprise, it doesn't involve Rob Zombie, Busta Rhymes or Paul Rudd.  So, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers is, in my opinion, the WORST of the Halloween series. At the end of Part 4 Michael is confirmed dead (later retconned)  and his niece Jamie murders her mother (later retconned) and Jamie is apparently possessed by Michael's murderous spirit (later retconned). The movie opens with Michael surviving and Jamie now in a hospital. Jamie's stepsister/heroine from the last movie shows up and is dead in the first 20 minutes. Thus giving us her friend/heroine for this movie/worst character in the movie/worst character in the franchise/runn...

Day 28(Originally Posted on September 28th 2020): The final day of my little shopping spree. I give you the Cadbury Harvest Mix.  Well, first things first, this Cadbury's Harvest mix is better than the Brach's Harvest Mix (two different candy corns and pumpkins). These guys are a sugary candy shell with Cadbury's chocolate inside. Like another seasonal Cadbury treat: the eggs. The first thing I noticed was that these guys are round (as opposed to egg shaped) and a more autumn like color scheme ( as opposed to a spring pastel color scheme).  The differences end there. The good: They're just like Cadbury eggs, the only other time you can get them is Easter. The bad: They're just like Cadbury eggs, if you miss them now, they'll be back at Easter. So, if you're a fan, be sure to grab a bag, if you aren't, give it a pass. Also the circle shape freaks me out, like large Sixlets.

Day 27(Posted on September 27, 2020): I told you that I had a little Halloween food shopping spree the other day, so here's today's food, Pumpkin Spice Twinkies.  So, these look like regular Twinkies, but once you take a bite, if you're not expecting it, that pumpkin spice taste hits you in the face. Now, when you unwrap these, you can smell the pumpkin spice. So, if you were hoping to trick a friend with these, unless they have a bad sense of smell, you're not tricking anyone. The sponge cake has the same consistency, the cream is a little fluffier(I can't remember how long it's been since I've had a Twinkie, so it might have always been this fluffy), but both the cake and the cream are loaded with pumpkin spice.  So, if you don't like Twinkies and/or don't like pumpkin spice, give these a pass, because they are loaded. But if you like both, these are a MUST BUY.

Day 26(Originally Posted September 26th, 2020): I hope you guys like the food reviews, because after a trip to Target, there's gonna be a few of them. Just like these: caramel apple jacks.                             Tim gave the box 4 paws.  So, I picked this up and I'm assuming this is a fall flavor, even though there is nothing on the front or back of the box to signify that (I at first thought it was a fall fair, but it's a CARMival)  The box is sort or orangish, so maybe that counts. So, you open the box and bag and that smell hits you and I'll say good job Kellogg's! They got the smell down. But, how do they taste?  They added a nice caramel flavor to the regular apple jacks and it's good. After they settle into the milk, the flavor doesn't hit at hard anymore, but for the first few bites, they're good. Grab them if you looking to get cereal and...

Day 25(Originally Posted September 25 2020): I reviewed the book last night, today it's the movie, so how is Scary Stories to tell in the Dark?  It's good for what it is, I know that isn't the most glowing recommendation, but, let me explain. The movie's plot is about a group of kids who discover a book and the characters from the book come to life and Snatch the kids away one by one(Such as Harold, the white lady and the dangly man) , until they find a way to stop them. The movie feels like instead of being it's own thing, it felt like it was trying to be Goosebumps. Fans of the book most likely won't like it, mostly because the type of book would fit better as an anthology film. It's decent, but if you're a fan of book, it will most likely be a one and done. Its pretty safe for the older kids, they'll most likely make it a Halloween staple.

Day 24(Originally poster on September 24, 2020): Here's a blast from the past courtesy of Scholastic Books. With stories to chill your bones and illustrations to crap your pants. It's Scary Stories to tell on the Dark!  .             Oh, little Pop Daddy, if only you knew... I can't remember how old I was, when I got this book , but I was still in school. I can remember when you ordered from the Scholastic book flyer, the teacher would order your books and your teacher would send the order in. When they came, 4-5 weeks later, they'd call you to the front of the class at the end of the say to claim your paper treasures. I looked through the books I received and there it was, with a ghoul that looked like a giant clown with a pipe emerging from the ground, this was a new world for me. I wasn't new to scary story books, I had read "In a Dark, Dark Room"                  ...

Let's look at VooDew!  When it comes to halloween drinks Coke and Pepsi themselves don't really have much to offer (Pepsi's Universal monster marketing in the early 90's was nostalgic perfection). But, Mountain Dew and Sprite, usually come through on the holiday flavors(Red, white and Dew is the first that comes to mind) it comes as a ghostly white translucent liquid in your standard Mt. Dew bottle, but in clear, as to peek the liquid inside. You crack open the black cap and take a swig of the mystery flavor. How's it taste? The first thing that comes to mind is Skittles. its a citrus and creamy mix with a hint of cherry. Not that bad, but a little too sweet, if that's your thing, definitely get this. If not, get one and share with friends. Cheers! Bonus, LAST YEARS VooDew review (Made around ...
