Click here for Pop Daddy's 2022 Krispy sKreme donut reviews! (Posted on October 31, 2020) Day 61: Happy Halloween everyone, I couldn't let you go without one more food review, so, here's one more for the road: Krispy Kreme's Monster Donuts!  I stopped by the Krispy Kreme in Scranton today to give this ago after seeing a few reviews and what better day to try? The line was out the door, but the wait was only about 15 mins, so that was a plus. I only took the three monster ones and decided against the "Halloween Sprinkle"  and "Spooky Drizzle"  due to one looking just OK and one being sold out.  So, I get these to go and I bring home Drake, Frank and Wolfie. How did they stack up? Let's look.  Max, er, I mean Wolfie is their chocolate frosted, glazed donut with a chocolate whipped frosting, cinnamon toast crunch ears and a sugar piece of his eyes and teeth.  This on...

Day 61: For the final Halloween entry of the year, I will be looking at the original, classic often mentioned these past 2 months: Halloween.  The plot of Halloween is simple when you take only this movie into account: in 1963, 6 year old Michael Myers kills his sister, 15 years later when he's being transferred from his psychiatric hospital, he breaks out and returns to his hometown to stalk high school students with his doctor in hot pursuit. That's pretty much it. No family stalking, no cults, no Tina. Just that. In my opinion, even though this isn't my favorite movie(not even my favorite Halloween movie) this is a perfect horror movie in every way.  John Carpenter knocked it out of the park with this one, even though it wasn't the first slasher movie nor the first holiday horror movie, this blasted the doors open for years to come. Now of course there would be sequels, some great ones (Halloween 2) some Bad ones (Halloween 5) some...

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 60

Day 60: We are close to the end here and we have the last candy review and we are going out with a bang!  Today we have: Orange Kit Kats, Dark chocolate kit Kats and sour punch twists!  I grabber these at Walgreens, and let's get into it.  The orange kit Kats are orange colored vanilla chocolate, so no orange flavor here, these kind of taste weird and I wouldn't buy again.  The dark chocolate Kit Kats are different, now I'm not a big dark chocolate guy, but with these, it's like they used top notch dark chocolate. These were really good, if you like dark chocolate or different Kit Kats, definitely give these a buy!  The twists come in three flavors oozing orange, bone chilling berry and monster melon. These are all pretty average, the sour doesn't really pack a punch and it doesn't last too long. The berry was the stand out of these. Out of the three I here, the dark chocolate Kit Kats are the winner.

Day 59: Earlier I talked about my favorite horror video game series, which was the Castlevania series, today I'll talk about the best one: Super Castlevania IV Now, if you're from the NES generation, you're familiar with the vampire killing, monster hunting, whip cracking, holy water throwing Belmont family. Heck, Simon is up there with Mario, Link, Mega Man and Samus. He was even a main character on the video game centered Captain N.  You once again play as Simon and your task is to make your way through Dracula's Castle taking down monsters. As the game starts you make your way through a rocky valley with a skull shaped mountain in the back along with a soft organ soundtrack.  The atmosphere is set perfectly as you start the next level the music picks up as you enter the outer grounds the soundtrack starts to pick up with what I think is the best track of the Castlevania saga (even better than Vampire Killer) Simon Belmo...

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 58

Day 58: When it comes to Halloween, while there aren't as many specials as there is at Christmastime, I feel the Halloween ones in some cases pack a harder punch, case in point: It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!  When I was a kid, I remember I had a few Charlie Brown specials on a vhs tape. The Christmas one, Bon Voyage Charlie Brown and this. I loved the tape and would watch all three year round (Bon voyage isn't related to any holiday, but it feels more like a summer guy).                          "This one's a summer guy!" The special deals with the Peanuts gang on Halloween, and their misadventures. But there's so much I remember, from picking the biggest pumpkin, to jumping in leaves, to bobbing for apples, all the rocks that Charlie got (why did people have those ready?). There is so much to this movie and this along with the Christmas and thanksgiving specials and they ar...

Pop Daddy's Halloween Countdown Day 57

Day 57: Stopped at Rite Aid today and to my luck, they had Halloween candy! So should you be picking: Russell Stover's Chocolate Pumpkins? They come in at least 3 flavors: Peanut butter, marshmallow and coconut cream. They were out of coconut cream, so I just picked up the first 2. The design on the PB is the standard chocolate wavy design, but on the marshmallow, it looks like they tried to make a pumpkin design, but it's just puffy.  But, they are shaped like pumpkins, so that's a win. The chocolate shell on the peanut butter is a TINY bit thicker than on a Peanut Butter cup, while on the marshmallow one, its like a thin shell that will crack under a little pressure.  The peanut butter is a little bit grittier than the Reese's kind and the Marshmallow is super sticky, but is more like real marshmallow, as opposed to marshmallow flavored cream. And without care you'd have a mess on your hands. So, these are pretty ok,...

Day 55: 44 years ago today John Carpenter's Halloween was released to cinemas worldwide, and the horror genre was changed forever. But, this isn't a review of the first one, this is pretty much a where I stand on each movie with the pros and con's.  Halloween (1978) The classic Pros: Pretty much everything from atmosphere to setting, this is the classic and I will have more on this in a few days, actually. Plus, it includes my favorite scary movie scene.   Cons: There's nothing I can really think of. Aside from some very small plot holes.  Halloween II (1981) The sequel that picks up immediately where the other left off.  Pros: Adds so much extra to the first movie, I did a mini review 2 weeks ago, if you want to check that out.  Cons: Laurie seems to take a backseat in this movie to Loomis which is a shame, because she wouldn't return for another 17 years / 6 movies. Last time we see Laurie and Loomis together. Although ...
